He’s come a long way from “Stick Season”! Noah Kahan brought his signature blend of heartfelt lyrics and infectious energy to Madison Square Garden, not once, but twice, for two sold-out shows this week. The Vermont native clearly felt the love from his NYC fans, calling the city his “second home” during his electrifying Tuesday night set.
Kahan, known for his emotionally raw lyrics, joked with the crowd, “My only goal tonight is to leave everybody a little less happy than when they walked in. I am disappointed in the overwhelming positivity in this room. It’s pissing me off.” Of course, anyone familiar with Kahan knows his dry sense of humor is all part of the charm.
The “All My Love” singer treated fans to a nearly two-hour set packed with fan favorites, including “She Calls Me Back.” He also took a moment to express his gratitude, saying, “Every morning I wake up and I pinch myself, and I will never ever take it for granted, and I’ll be here for as long as you’ll have me.” In a particularly sweet moment, he gave a shout-out to his mom, Lauri Berkenkamp, who was in the audience.
No MSG show is complete without a surprise guest, and Kahan delivered. After bringing out James Bay for his Monday performance of “Stick Season,” Kahan surprised Tuesday’s crowd with “Soup” singer Remi Wolf. The pair’s voices blended beautifully for the duet, creating a memorable moment for the lucky fans in attendance.
Kahan’s “We’ll All Be Here Forever Tour” continues through September, with stops at festivals across the U.S. and internationally. With his star clearly on the rise, it’s safe to say this is just the beginning for the talented singer-songwriter.
